Welcome Jack Frost

A quilt on the bed and cold air on my nose;
A lovely way to be in repose.

Fall’s in the air and the snow’s on its way;
Oh, how I wish that the season could stay.

Some like the tropics, the sun on their skin;
I prefer sweaters and warmth from within.

Dash away summer, give Jack Frost the floor;
This heart bids him welcome, to stay evermore.

He turns the leaves scarlet and paints all the glass;
With diamonds and petals – though, fleeting, they pass.

I wait for this cold blooded lover all year;
Goosebumps and shivers prove he has drawn near.

So away with the heat and the moisture and sweat;
The cold weather’s here and my smile’s firmly set.
